Cake smash & Birthdays

Arguably the most important photoshoot, your little baby is turning one! A magical milestone in their life and a time you want to celebrate and have a bit of fun!

I love doing cake smash shoots. It's a shoot that doesn't have to be absolutely perfect. We get messy, babies covered in cake and sprinkles and chocolate, and the studio ends up covered in chocolate hand and foot prints every time, but that's the whole point, the messier the better! It doesn't matter if babies not looking straight down the lens smiling this time, it doesn't matter if they look crazy whilst taking a massive bite out of a chunk of chocolate cake, it's just a chance to have a bit of fun. It's beautiful memories your baby will look back on when they grow up.

However some babies, believe it or not, don't like cake! Some babies hate getting messy, and some hate the feeling of the icing on their fingers and get stressed out and cry. If this happens, don't panic!

We always get beautiful portrait shots before the cake smash, and we always get plain birthday shots with just balloons and simple banners as well, just incase the cake smash doesn't go to plan.

We can also do bath shots after the cake smash if you'd like, a cake smash and splash! I think babies always look adorable in a little bubble bath splashing around, and it's often the time we get a lovely giggly shot too.
