FAQ

Where is your studio based?

My beautiful studio is based in Haverhill, Suffolk. It's around a 30 minute drive from Cambridge and Braintree, and isn't far from Essex.

What should I bring to my newborn session?

There's no need to bring anything in particular, just your usual baby bag, milks, nappies etc. There will of course always be time to feed, change & settle baby during your session if we need to.

- I will provide all props and outfits.
- Please feed baby before you arrive so baby is sleepy for the start of the shoot and after the car journey. If you are not breast feeding, please bring some milk with you just incase baby needs a little feed to settle them during the shoot.
- Please also bring baby in just a baby grow so we can undress baby easily upon arrival.
- If baby usually likes to have a pacifier at home please bring it with you. A dummy is always helpful to have in the shoot but is not essential if baby doesn’t take one.

How long does the newborn shoot take?

The photoshoot can take anytime between 1-2 hours, and average session being 2 hours long. This is a time when you can sit back, relax and enjoy the experience.

My sessions are always fun and relaxed, and most importantly never rushed. There is always time for baby to be fed or changed, as this can't be helped, if a babies hungry a babies hungry! I do always ask that you feed baby before arriving to the studio however so that baby is nice and sleepy for the start of the session.

Baby safety is paramount during my sessions. I have 11 years experience in photographing newborns. Be ensured that I am fully aware at all times that i'm holding your entire world in my hands, your babies safety always comes first.

What should I wear for the family shots?

I would advise wearing something light in colour, whites, cream's, beiges and browns always work really well with my studios lighting and shooting style. However you are welcome to wear anything you feel comfortable with.

When will we get our photos & how will we place an order?

After the photoshoot, I will get to work editing your gallery full of beautiful images and post them onto my website here, in the 'Client Section' within 1-2 weeks. Your gallery will be password protected so only you can view your photos, and the price list will be attached in your folder for you to look through. All your photos will be copyrighted until purchased, and once you've had a look through them all you can then print screen the images you'd like and let me know through a text or Facebook message what you'd like to order. All information is on the Client Section.

I always have a lot of photos to edit, and a lot of clients to please, so please be patient with me. I know how excited you'll be but perfection takes time.

Is there parking at the studio?

Yes, free customer parking is available at the studio.

What if my baby doesn't arrive on their due date?

Firstly, don't panic! Babies rarely arrive on their due dates unless booked in for a C section. If baby arrives early or late, please let me know as soon as possible and I will list availability to reschedule you if we need to. There is no extra charge for this type of reschedule as it can't be helped.

What is the best age to photograph my newborn baby?

Newborn babies are best photographed when they are aged between 4-21 days old. This is the time when they are the most sleepy, flexible and I am able to pose them in various ways. This is the time to capture the most beautiful images of your baby when they are at their smallest.

Anytime after this, I just call 'older newborn' sessions (babies 1-2 months old). This is the time you can capture those smiles, the wide awake sparkly eyed shots, & the shots of them looking at you like you're their favourite person in the entire world.

Theres never a bad time, or age to photograph your little one.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately I don't allow pets in the studio, just for hygiene purposes. Trust me, I love all animals and I wish I could! I just like to keep the studio as hygienically clean as possible when working with newborns and little babies.

How long does a cake smash session take?

Cake smash sessions take 60-90 minutes, depending on babies mood. We'll always get portrait photos first, and family shots if you'd like to, and then the cake smash and bubble bath last.
